Despite speculation that his $8 million base salary for 2010 might prompt the New Orleans Saints to release Reggie Bush, the the former USC star will be returning to the defending Super Bowl champions.
“He’ll be with us. He’s not going anywhere,” said Saints coach Sean Payton. “Mickey Loomis and I talked the other day about it. We value what this player brings. So he’s full speed ahead, he finished strong, and he’ll be with us.”
According to sources close to Bush, they are saying the same thing. He will definitely be with the Saints in 2010.
This is great news for Saints fans. Bush is clearly one of the best players on their football team and he has emerged as a valuable team leader in the locker room.
While he may have fallen a little short of lofty expectations coming out of college, Bush’s use as a third down receiver has made him a huge part of their offense.
