New York Jets head coach got his first preseason win on Saturday night as his team defeated the New York Giants in the annual New York braggin’ rights game.

Quarterback Mark Sanchez looked good after a slow start completing 13 out of his 20 attempts for 149 yards and one touchdown.

Named the starting quarterback by Ryan earlier in the week, Sanchez overcame a bunch of early pressure before he settled down. He combined with Jerricho Cotchery on a 14 yard pass play to set up a Thomas Jones touchdown run that tied the game at 7 in the first quarter.

The Jets now move to 1-2 in the preseason under Ryan. They wrap it up next week against the Philadelphia Eagles.
