Pedro Martinez Wants To Be Back In 2010

According to Pedro Martinez’s agent, the 38 year old right-hander wants to come back and try to pitch again in the 2010 season.
In 2009, Martinez played for the Dominican Republic in the World Baseball Classic in spring, but did not sign with a major league team right away. This year Pedro plans to return and pitch from the start of the season, rather than wait until mid-season.
Many teams were concerned with Martinez’s age and his injury problems. However, after helping Philadelphia to the National League pennant, going 5-1 with a 3.63 ERA in nine starts, he hopes that the Phillies will give him a chance to start the year.
Even if the Phillies don’t bring him back, I expect to see Pedro catch on somewhere. I don’t car how old he is; the way he pitched down the stretch and through the playoffs, I would want him on my team.
