The Oakland Raiders and Sebastian Janikowski reached a deal that has made him the richest kicker in the history of the NFL.
Janikowski’s four-year, $16 million deal is the richest kicking contract ever for a kicker in the National Football League. The contract includes $9 million in guaranteed money and will keep him in Silver and Black through the 2013 season.
While I realize that Janikowski is arguably the best in the game at his position, this just does not make any sense to me.
That is a lot of money to pay a guy that may or may not even get into some games.
It would seem that the Raiders have bigger fish to fry than locking down a kicker.
