Tiger Woods finally spoke publicly on Friday about cheating on his wife and his plans as to his return to competitive golf.

In front of his mother, PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem, friends and some media from the TPC at Sawgrass, the home of the PGA Tour, Woods read from a prepared statement.

“Many of you in this room are my friends. Many of you in this room know me. Many of you have cheered for me or you’ve worked with me or you’ve supported me,” Tiger said. “Now every one of you has good reason to be critical of me. I want to say to each of you, simply and directly, I am deeply sorry for my irresponsible and selfish behavior I engaged in.”

Well, this has been long over due. Every one has been waiting since November to something from the world’s No. 1 golfer. But this was a joke.

Come on Tiger, who wrote this one for you? It was as though he had never even rehearsed. Much like Alex Rodriguez’s confession last year, this did not seem sincere.
