No Byron Nelson Championship For Tony Romo

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo will not be trying to qualify for the HP Byron Nelson Championship on Monday.

The Cowboys signal caller’s tee time for qualifying at Stonebridge Ranch Country Club’s Hills Course in McKinney, Texas, conflicted with the first day of Dallas’ organized team activities, which were set to begin on Monday.

Last week, Romo moved past the first stage of Nelson qualifying, but said he would pick football over golf if the two conflicted.

With the Byron Nelson Championship out of his plans, Romo now hopes to participate in the U.S. Open’s local qualifier Thursday at The Honors Club of Dallas.

Does this seem a little ridiculous to anyone else?

One would think that an NFL quarterback of a team that has fallen short of expectations for years should be focused on what he is being paid millions to do.
