New Pro Bowl Format Leaves Some Scratching Their Heads
Posted Under: Football Betting
The NFL will be saying aloha to Hawaii as the 2009 edition of the Pro Bowl will be the last in Honolulu, at least for a while anyway.
Early this week the league announced some changes to the format of the NFL All-Star game. In 2010 the game will be played in Miami, the site of Super Bowl XLIV and it will be held the week before the Super Bowl.
The move is suppose to boost interest and strengthen the game itself. Great idea, the NFL Pro Bowl is easy the least interesting All-Star game of any of the major sports. Trying out new cities could definitely be exciting, but changing the game from after the Super Bowl to before seems a little silly.
Who is going to play? Are we to expect that players from the Super Bowl teams would even play in the game? I think not. Why would any player want to risk injury in the Pro Bowl a week before the Super Bowl?
