Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki will be playing the role of host to the NBA’s best talent for the All-Star Game, but a few other reserves announced Thursday know their way around.
Nowitzki will be the Mavericks’ lone representative in the Valentine’s Day event at Cowboys Stadium.
“It is an honor to represent the Mavericks in my new hometown of Dallas,” Nowitzki said. “I am always thankful for the opportunity to play in the All-Star game. We hope to put on a good show for our fans.”
Dirk may be the only Maverick around, but the state of Texas will be well represented.
Toronto power forward Chris Bosh, who attended Lincoln High in Dallas, will make his fifth consecutive All-Star appearance. Utah point guard Deron Williams will make his All-Star debut within a short drive of his hometown, The Colony, Texas.
