Kevin Harvick says he doesn’t know where he’ll drive next season, but he is fairly certain that he will choose to stay with Chevrolet.
At Talladega Superspeedway on Friday night, Harvick said that he has been doing a lot of talking with team owner Richard Childress about staying with Richard Childress Racing when his contract expires after this season, but their is still no commitment on the table.
Harvick would not say if he and his representatives have spoken to other owners, but he did make it clear that he had no problems with Childress Racing.
“Richard Childress and myself, we’ve got a great relationship,” said Harvick. “We’ve been talking about a lot of things for several months. It’s not anything different than we normally do at this time. Everybody is communicating well.”
Wherever Harvick ends up, he’ll have a new sponsor in 2011. Shell/Pennzoil announced earlier in the week it is moving to Kurt Busch in the No. 22 car at Penske Racing next year.
