Mets Think Surgery Could Be The Answer For Reyes

New York Mets shortstop Jose Reyes may need surgery to repair the torn right hamstring tendon that has kept him out of the Mets line-up for most of the season.
The Mets say Reyes is still getting physical therapy for the torn tendon behind his knee and that surgery could have to be the next option. The speedy infielder has been on the disabled list since the second month of the season.
Reyes went on the DL May 26, retroactive to May 21. Earlier this month he returned to New York from rehab at the Mets Spring Training facility in Port St. Lucie, Fla., to be examined by team doctors.
Reyes is batting .279 in only 36 games this season. He is just one of several key players the Mets have missed due to injury this year. Reyes, along with Carlos Beltran, Carlos Delgado, and Johan Santana are all on the DL.
Third baseman David Wright has also missed time lately after he had a concussion. Wright could be activated soon.
