Even though the NBA has not made it official, their are reports that Cavaliers superstar, LeBron James, was voted the league’s MVP for the second straight year.
According to the Associated Press, James, who averaged 29.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 8.6 assists this season, will receive the trophy Sunday from commissioner David Stern at the University of Akron.
If these reports are indeed true, James is just the 10th player in the history of the NBA to be the MVP in consecutive seasons.
This season, LeBron helped lead the Cavaliers to 61 wins in the regular season and the top seed in the playoffs.
“I give a lot of credit to my teammates, the coaching staff and my family,” James said. “It solidifies a lot of hard work and dedication.
As good as the Cavs were this season, James’ value was never more obvious than when he sat out Cleveland’s last four games of the regular season, and they lost each one.
