Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers have advanced to the NBA Finals for the second consecutive year and record 30th time overall.

The Lakers got through Carmelo Anthony and the resilient Denver Nuggets with a 119-92 win in Game 6 of the Western Conference finals on Friday night.

Kobe led the Lakers with 35 points and 10 assists, and now has scored at least 500 points in four different postseasons. Only Michael Jordan has done that more by accomplishing the feat eight times.

“Now we’re in a place where we didn’t get the job accomplished last year,” Bryant said. “Hopefully we will this time.”

Instead of cruising through the West this time like many experts thought they might, the Lakers survived an brutal seven-game semifinal series against Houston and another difficult test against Denver.

They will finally get some much-needed rest after playing every other day for a grueling two weeks.
