Kobe And The Lakers Clinch Pacific Division Crown

Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers have become the time team in the Western Conference to secure a playoff spot. Thanks to Bryant’s 23 points, the Lakers rolled past the San Antonio Spurs 102-95. With the victory Los Angeles also, clinched the Pacific Division.
The Lakers won the three-game season series, 2-1, over the Spurs. San Antonio has the second-best record in the West at 43-20.
Although the Lakers almost blew what was once an 18 point lead, they collected themselves enough to hold on for the win and made a strong statement as to their apparent Western Conference domination.
Los Angeles also got a strong game from Pau Gasol and his 23 points and 11 rebounds. Lamar Odom returned for the Lakers after he missed Wednesday night’s game while serving his one-game suspension and had a double-double of his own with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
The Lakers are going to be a tough team to beat heading into the playoffs. It’s hard to imagine that any team out West will be able to challenge them for the Conference Championship.
