New York Mets shortstop Jose Reyes has not played much this season. And right now he is being evaluated by team doctors after feeling discomfort in his injured right hamstring while running.

Reyes has been on the disabled list since May. Before the Mets game at the Washington Nationals, New York manager Jerry Manuel said that the doctors are trying to make a determination as to whether or not the All-Star short-stop needs surgery to repair the damage.

The Mets say Reyes was bothered by the hamstring while running during his rehabilitation work at a New York’s training facility on Long Island.

In just 36 games this season, Reyes batted .279 with two home runs, 15 RBIs and 11 steals, a far cry from his normal numbers. Reyes is just one of many players the Mets have on the DL. These days the Mets line-up looks more like one from Triple A team and a whole lot less like one of a Big League roster.
