Johnson Steps Closer To Career 300th Victory

San Francisco Giants pitcher Randy Johnson recorded his 299th as he scattered just three hits and one run in six innings of work while the Giants beat the Atlanta Braves 6-3.
The Big Unit retired the Braves’ first nine hitters on order and set down 15 of the first 16 men he faced in one of his most impressive outing of the season. After the win, Johnson released in the moment for about as long as it took him to unlace his spikes, then it was back to business. Always thinking ahead.
“I don’t know what it’s going to be like,” Johnson said. “I can’t anticipate things until they happen. I’m just grateful I’m in this position. I just like going out there and pitching and doing well.”
In picking up number 299, Johnson is now just one shy of joining Tom Glavine as the only current major leaguers with 300 wins.
