Jason Bay Signs With The New York Mets

According to MLB sources, Free-agent outfielder Jason Bay has reached agreement on a four-year, guaranteed $66 million contract with the New York Mets.
It appears that this will become official once Bay passes a physical exam sometime next week.
Bay is a three-time All-Star, he hit .267 with 36 home runs and 119 RBIs for the Boston Red Sox in 2009.
I guess this move adds a good hitter to the New York line-up. It definitely adds some stability to a Mets team that was crushed by injuries lately. Bay as averaged 154 games a season since 2005 with Pittsburgh and the Red Sox.
What the Mets really need is pitching. Aside from starter Johan Santana and closer Francisco Rodriguez, the Mets staff is basically garbage.
With Jose Revis, David Wright, Carlos Beltran, Jeff Francoeur and now Bay, we know the Mets offense can be explosive when healthy.
However, the Mets need better pitching before they can contend in the NL East.
