The Pittsburgh Steelers are sitting at about a touchdown favorite for the Super Bowl this Sunday. And while Hines Wards says he will play, the Steelers wide-out continues to miss practice.

If he does indeed suit-up Sunday, Ward won’t be the flashiest receiver on the field but he is a the key member of the Steelers heart and soul.

Ward sprained his right MCL during the AFC championship game against Baltimore. Whether or not he plays, probably won’t affect the line, but it could surely affect the Steelers offense. Ward is a great possession receiver and he one of those guys that always seems to be open when Ben Roethlisbeger really needs him to be.

Hines Wards is one of the finest blocking receivers the league has ever known and the leadership he brings to his team every time he steps onto the field is unparalleled. You may not always see his name at the top of the box score, but he affects every game he plays.
