With the chase to land Phoenix Suns forward Amare Stoudemire heating up, Miami has intensified their efforts to acquire the former 2003 NBA Rookie of the Year.

Coming out of the All-Star break, the Heat appear to be coming hard for Stoudemire.

According to reports, the Suns hope to come away with at least one first-round draft pick if they decide to trade Stoudemire this week. The Heat have first-rounders to give, however they may be offering up Jermaine O’Neal’s as part of the deal and Phoenix has no interest in bringing him back.

O’Neal’s hefty expiring contract of $23 million is going to require more players to be worked into the deal than the Suns are comfortable parting with.

Miami is most likely going to have to find a third team to get involved if they expect to snag the five-time All-Star.
