Favre Impresses In His Second Preseason Action

Apparently the reports that Brett Favre has a cracked rib may be a little over blown, because the 39 year old quarterback looked pretty good in the Vikings’ 17-10 win over the Houston Texans on Monday night.

Favre played three quarters, completed 13 out of his 18 attempts, throwing for 142 yards and one 28-yard catch and run by Chester Taylor just before halftime.

Favre told reporters before the game that he thought he had a cracked rib, but he didn’t look to be in pain while getting sacked twice and taking numerous hits. Favre even a penalty for an illegal crack-back block lined up wide in the wildcat formation in the third quarter.

Vikings coaches have to be pleased with Favre’s progress, now it is just a question of whether or not Favre aging body can continue to take the hitting week in and week out.
