Devils and Brodeur Continue To Slide Down The Stretch

New Jersey Devils goaltender, Martin Brodeur, has only allowed six goals in a game once in his illustrious career. That is, until last night in Pittsburgh when the Penguins got a half dozen buy the future Hall Of Famer.
Brodeur and the Devils can’t seem to buy a win lately and appear to be backing into the playoffs mired in a late-season slump.
Brodeur, the NHL career victories leader who will be recognized Friday for breaking Patrick Roy’s record, hasn’t won in six starts since going 9-1 following his return from a biceps injury.
With just five games left in the regular season, the Devils are playing their worst hockey of the year and are in danger of falling even further behind the Eastern Conference seeding. On March 17th, New Jersey was right on the heels of the Bruins and look forward to overtaking Boston for the top seed in the Conference. Now the Devils sit third, trailing the Washington Capitals by three points.
