Could Tom Cable Be On His Way Out Of Oakland

Apparently, the National Organization for Women (NOW) thinks that Raiders coach Tom Cable should not be coaching while the team investigates allegations that he has a history of violent behavior toward women.
NOW president Terry O’Neill released a statement to the USA Today saying that Cable’s history raises the question: Why is he still coaching the Raiders?
“Mr. Cable admits having battered his first wife, and he stands accused of battering two other intimate partners as well. As a survivor of domestic violence, I know that women do not make such accusations lightly. Indeed, women have much more to lose than to gain by coming forward to tell their stories.”
While I certainly sympathize with victims of abuse, Cable still deserves due process. In this country we are innocent until proven guilty, at least that is what I believed to be true. Americans are not supposed to be punished for allegations.
While Cable is probably a wife-beater, I don’t know if any wrong-doing has been proven.
