Could Third Straight Loss Seal Weis’ Fate

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish dropped their third straight game on Saturday to the UConn Huskies 33-30 in overtime.

So, Charlie Weis was left to try to explain another jarring loss on senior day and wonder if it will be his last game at Notre Dame stadium as Fighting Irish coach.

This will only fuel the fire calling for Weis to be fired.

There are a few schools of thought when it comes to this kind of thing. One is, the coach is responsible putting his players in the position to win football games.

Weis has done that. The Irish have lost five games by and average of 4.2 point per game. The kids on the field just have not executed.

That might work in some places, but this is Notre Dame. I don’t care how great of a coach you are.

You need to win football games and go to major bowls.
