Colts president Bill Polian is pointing fingers after Indianapolis’ 31-17 loss to the New Orleans Saints in Super Bowl XLIV.

According to Polian, both the offensive line and the special teams unit suffered a let down and are to blame for the loss. He was quoted as saying that Peyton Manning’s protectors did not have a good game.

I guess it had nothing to do with Manning’s horrible read that lead to a fourth quarter interception for a touchdown that put the game out of reach with just over three minutes to play or his inability to get one yard on the goal line.

It would seem that after the team owner says that a player will soon become the highest paid in the NFL, it would not be smart to place any blame on him.

Don’t get me wrong. I can’t put all the blame on Manning, that would be stupid. Last time I checked, football is a team game.

Let’s give some credit to the Saints. They just flat-out bested the Colts in every aspect of Super Bowl XLIV.
