Cleveland’s Josh Cribbs is feeling more and more confident that he’ll be playing for the Browns next season.

After a 2009 season that proved Cribbs to be a multi-talented wide receiver and kick returner, the 26 year old didn’t see much of a chance he would remain in Cleveland for 2010.

Earlier this month that he thought it was “unlikely” he’ll play another game for Cleveland after a $1.4 million contract offer for next season.

However, on Thursday, he indicated that new Browns president Mike Holmgren has reached out to him and “wants to get something done soon.”

This is a great move by Holmgren. Cribbs is easily the Browns most dynamic playmaker. He realizes that to turn the Cleveland franchise around, not only needs to bring in some good new talent, he needs to hold to the talent he already has.

Cribbs says he would “love to play for the Browns” and hopes that his contract situation is worked out.
