Brian Westbrook To Meet With Concussion Specialists
Posted Under: Football Betting
Philadelphia Eagles running back Brian Westbrook is scheduled to meet with two specialists in Pittsburgh on Wednesday to determine if and when he can resume playing football after suffering two serious concussions in three weeks.
Westbrook sustained his first career concussion when he hit his head on a defender’s knee during a Monday night win at Washington last month. Westbrook briefly lost consciousness but walked off the field under his own power.
Then, after sitting out two games the 30-year-old running back returned to the field this past Sunday against San Diego. He was injured in the third quarter on a screen play in which he was caught between a block by Eagles receiver Jason Avant and Chargers safety Eric Weddle.
Post Concussion Syndrome is serious business. We all have heard the horror stories about guys like Steve Young forgetting where he lived after suffering multiple head injuries.
Brian has been a great player in the NFL for a long time. I hope to see him out on the field again, but we would all rather here about him have a productive life after football.
Take car of yourself Brian.
