Cleveland Browns coach Eric Mangini is apparently personally responsible for Syndric Steptoe’s season-ending shoulder injury because of a bad practice decision.

At least that is what Steptoe’s agent is saying.

“The coaches should more carefully weigh the risk of injury in practice decisions,” said Jerome Stanley, Steptoe’s agent.

Mangini denied allegations that the injury sustained by Steptoe had anything to do with the field conditions or the nature of the drills.

”Seventy-nine other guys were able to practice effectively,” Mangini said. “And really the play that he was injured on didn’t have anything to do with the elements.”

According to Mangini, Steptoe was diving for a pass when he was hurt. It was something that Steptoe commonly attempts in drills.
